Executive Summary
Nana fruit salad is a business that has been in existence for a while. But it is a small scale
business runned by me alone . People around me are aware of it due to the fact that I advertised
the business to them, and they really loved what they get from me. My aim now is to make it a
large scale business, that will be known all over the state. The business will be located at Ijaniki
Badagry expressway Lagos State Nigeria. We are going to sell a mixture of fruits cut into small
pieces with condensed milk and groundnut on the top and surrounding the small pieces of different
fruits put in a disposable transparent food packs, of varying sizes for various prices. The kind of
fruits that it will contain are; watermelon, pawpaw, cucumber, carrot, banana, golden melon, and
apple. As we're going to have a deal with a fruit shop that is located in Agbara Lagos State to be
our supplier. They can provide us with fresh fruits with high nutritions.
However, there are many problems that naturally are from running a business like this. One of it
complaining that the fruit salad is not cold, which have made me come into a conclusion that for
this particular business,I need a refrigerator to freeze it after it has been packed,so as to meet up to
costumers wants.
The minimum amount that will be needed to startup and to maintain this business is
#100,000.00 hundred thousand naira.

Challenges & ways out

Scarcity of fruits is one of the big challenges we face.“Some fruits have their periods of
scarcity. During this time, there is hike in price.” Therefore,we need to buy fruits in bulk so as to
prepare ahead of the period of scarcity.
Another trouble is perishable nature of fruits. Some fruits go bad after purchase and this leads to
losses and additional expenses which affect the profit generation. Plastic bags will be provided
only for the storage of raw fruits bought to avoid spoilage. And I will ensure before purchasing
that the fruits are 100% fresh.

Problems
Nowadays, many people doesn't love eating fruits, especially kids these days are being picky
towards their food, while they enjoy junk food compared to fruits. Some doesn't even know where
to get it nowadays because fruits are becoming scarce in the society, which is not supposed to be.

Solution
Me as a business owner came out with an idea of doing business by doing good and healthy
fruit salad. Which helps the society to become healthier by cutting various kinds of fruits like;
watermelon, pawpaw, cucumber, carrot, banana, golden melon, apple into small pieces and mix
them up together, then I thought of adding condensed milk on the fruits in order to give some
sweet taste that attracts the people to eat more healthy fruits. And then we will add them all up in
an attractive transparent food pack, and refrigerate it. Then it will be set for distribution.

Production
Production capacity depends on the capital invested and capital capability

Profit
Gaining a lot of profits for this is assured because Fruit salad is highly consumed; this attracts a
lot of profitsprofits

Competitors
Currently at Ijaniki which is my business location, as well as LASUED and its Environment
which is my target market, there is no competitor for my fruit salad business. But that doesn't
mean that there is no fruit salad vendors here in Lagos alone talkless of other states in Nigeria.
Infact at every market, there is at least one person selling fruit salad. Which means that it can
easily be gotten from the market. Even some people sell theirs online. Whereas, if I want my
business to be unique among the others, I need to do something special. Which involves
promoting my fruit salad business in the following ways;

Ways to Effectively Promote The business

Legal Considerations:
I need to Obtain any necessary licenses, permits, and food handling certifications required for
my fruit salad business. I that is being acquired, I can deliver it to nearby supermarkets also. And
that will result to increase in profit.

Target Customers
The main customers will be students within the campus, hotels within the area and other
residents occupying the region. This business however, will look to expand and target more
consumers in the other part of the state in succeeding years.
Target Market and Size
The business will have a wide consumer base that will cover the entire campus and its environs.
The target customer base will be a conservative minimum of 20,000-60,000 people. The expected
income potential from such an organized and well-focused business is expected to be high and rise
over the years. I will consider the cost of selling my products to other parts of the state in the
medium term

Conclusion
“The process of preparing the fruits is tedious because it consumes a lot of time and energy"most
importantly more funds will be needed to finance the growth of this business.
I will Hire staff, if necessary, to assist with food preparation, serving, and customer service. And
will ensure that they are trained in food handling and customer. Another thing is to Set up efficient
systems for managing inventory, minimizing waste, and ensuring that we always have fresh
ingredients available.
I will Set up a secure and convenient payment processing system, which may include cash, card
payments, and mobile payment options.
As my fruit salad business grows, I'll consider expanding my menu, opening additional
locations, or exploring catering opportunities for events and parties.
