[Scene 1]:
Ella and James have been best friends since middle school. They did everything together: traveling,
gaming, gossiping, and more. They were, indeed, friends who could never be apart. After three long
years, they are now going to high school together in three days.
{Ella and James enter, talking to each other. They are excited and nervous, trembling with anticipation. They sit on
the chair in the center of the stage.}
Ella: Are you ready for high school? Oh my god. I can’t imagine myself in high school!
James: (sighs) Nope. Not at all. How am I supposed to do AP, SAT, IELTS, and extracurricular activities?
Ugh. I already miss my middle school years.
Ella: James…I am super worried about my classmates. What if they hate us?
James: Who cares about that honestly? You have me. Just worry about your grades. You don’t want to
have a bad future, do you?
Ella: (smiles) I guess so. Well, I need to go now. (see the clock) It’s nine already. See you on Monday at
high school.
{Ella exits the stage. Soon, James exits the stage too, sighing.}
[Scene 2]:
It is their first day of high school. Ella and James are going to school together. When they arrive in
the classroom, they meet their classmates, Bella and April. Both Bella and April are known as bullies
in high school. There were many rumors surrounding them that they also behaved poorly in classes.
{Both of them step into the classroom. They find the seating plan on the board and go to their seats. (Ella is
supposed to sit with April, and James is supposed to sit with Bella).}
{Bella and April arrive, chitchatting. They find the seating plan and sit down in their seats.}
April: (whispering) It’s just a name. If you don’t want to introduce yourself, I’ll do it for you.
Bella: Hi Ella, do you want to join our group? (with a proud gesture) It would be a great benefit for you
because we are quite famous. You fit our group.
James: I think you shouldn’t join them. They don’t look like good students.
April: You should join us. I can guarantee (gae-run-tee) you that you will have a wonderful year with us.
Ella: Sure, I will join you. I really hope that I can have a successful year in high school.
{As the class bell rings, Ella, April, and Bella exit out of the classroom. (The classroom becomes dark.)}
{James sits alone in the classroom.}
[Scene 3]:
The group of Ella, Bella, and April is renowned as a notorious group. It is popular, but once targeted
by them, you are equal to being dead. Although Ella didn’t enjoy bullying, she followed the group.
However, Ella saw that Bella and April were bullying James.
Bella is saying bad words and April is trying to hurt James' feelings, Ella comes to the lunchroom and
sees that they are bullying James.
{Ella, Bella, and April approach James. James stares at them, while Bella and April start to smirk at James.}
{Bella and April pour milk to James and April hits James.}
{Ella stays quiet, thinking about it and Ella takes out the phone and takes photos.}
[Scene 4]:
That night, at her home, Ella finds a photobook of her father. She asks her father why there are no
pictures of himself in high school, and figures out that her father was bullied. When talking with her
father, Ella notices that bullying is bad and she shouldn't stay in the group.
Ella: Dad, why don’t you have your photo in your photobook?
Ella: Just tell me. It’s fine; I have already finished my homework.
Father: Long story short, I was bullied by a group of students. I loathed them. It ruined my life, seriously.
All my happiness was drained from them, and they thought it was fun.
Father: Being respectful and kind are the most important features of a human. I am just glad you have
great friends that support you. Especially James.
Ella notices how she is trembling with guilt. James had been a good friend to Ella since middle
school. Now she was bullying him.
Ella: (thinking) What if James has a bad future because of me? I can’t let him have a bad future.
[Scene 5]:
Ella reflects on her actions of joining Bella and April’s group. As she sees James being targeted,
millions of memories and emotions start to appear in her mind, leading to Ella becoming frustrated
over them. She decides to fight against Bella and April and take the side of her true friend, James.
Ella: Last time you guys already bullied James, and now you guys are bullying him again?
Ella: Why do you guys keep bullying James when he does nothing to us?
Bella: Nope, if you don’t want to join just leave the group!
Ella: Okay, after I leave the group, I will give all of the evidence that you guys have bullied James to the
principal.
{Bella and April look at Ella with their side eyes. They just pass James and stop bullying him.}
Ella: I’ll block your path. When you grow up, see what your past leaves behind.
[scene 6]:
Ella leaves the group and sends an email with supporting evidence that can prove that Bella and April
bullied James. After those events, Ella apologizes to James and their relationship becomes even
stronger than before.
{Ella goes to James, who is standing far away from the girls, with a big smile.}
Ella: I’m so sorry for my actions at the beginning of the school year. I feel that I didn’t behave well.
James: It’s alright. (pause) Oh, also thank you for taking my side. I felt scared and alone, but now I feel
confident again.
Ella: I promise I will never make you feel that way again. After all, we are best friends, aren’t we?
James: Yep!
