1. Introduction

Overview of the Project

This project proposes the establishment of a high-speed Internet Service Provider (ISP) in
three key areas of Dhaka, Bangladesh: Dhanmondi, Uttara, and Lalmatia. These areas
are among the most densely populated and economically active regions in the city, with a
high demand for reliable and affordable internet services. The project will focus on
providing fiber-optic-based internet connectivity to residential, commercial, and
educational institutions, ensuring high-speed, low-latency, and uninterrupted service.

Objectives of the Project

 To provide affordable and high-speed internet services to residents, businesses,

and educational institutions in Dhanmondi, Uttara, and Lalmatia.
 To bridge the digital divide by ensuring reliable internet access for all
socioeconomic groups.
 To support the growth of e-commerce, remote work, and online education in these
areas.
 To contribute to the Digital Bangladesh vision by improving digital infrastructure.
2. Sources of Funding

Private Funding (Landowner)

 The landowner will provide the physical space required for setting up the ISP
infrastructure, such as servers, routers, and other equipment. This will significantly
reduce the initial capital expenditure.
 In return, the landowner will receive a share of the profits generated by the
ISP, creating a mutually beneficial partnership.
 The landowner’s contribution will also include facilitating the installation of fiber-
optic cables and other necessary infrastructure.

Personal Funding (Personal Fund)

 Personal savings and investments will be used to cover the initial setup costs,
including purchasing equipment, hiring technical staff, and marketing the
service.
 This ensures full control over the project and its operations, allowing for
quick decision-making and flexibility in implementation.
 A portion of the personal fund will also be allocated as a contingency reserve
to address any unforeseen expenses during the project’s initial phase.
3. Problem Statement

Current Challenges in Internet Connectivity

 Inconsistent Service: Many existing ISPs in Dhanmondi, Uttara, and Lalmatia

provide unreliable internet services, with frequent outages and slow speeds.
 High Costs: Affordable high-speed internet is often out of reach for middle- and
low-income families, creating a digital divide.
 Limited Coverage: Some areas within these regions still lack proper internet
infrastructure, leaving residents and businesses underserved.
 Impact on Education and Business: Poor internet connectivity hampers online
education, remote work, and e-commerce, which are critical for economic growth
and development.

Why This Project is Important

 Economic Growth: Reliable internet access will enable small businesses

and startups to thrive, contributing to the local economy.
 Educational Advancement: Students will have access to online learning
resources, bridging the gap between urban and rural education.
 Healthcare Access: Telemedicine services will become more accessible,
improving healthcare outcomes for residents.
 Social Connectivity: High-speed internet will enhance communication and social
connectivity, improving the quality of life for residents.
