Ans. A table is an organised arrangement of text in the form of rows and columns. Using a table grid,
we can create a table in the document.

Q2. State a difference between the Table Move and Table Resize handles.

Ans. The Table Move handle is used to move a table. The Table Resize handle is used to resize the
table.

Q3. Describe the use of the Split Cells and Merge Cells options.

Ans. The Split Cell option is used to divide the selected cell into separate cells, whereas the Merge
Cells option is used to combines two or more cells into a single large cell.

Q4. How do you combine two or more cells in a table?

Ans. To combine two or more cells in a table:

Step 1. Select the cells.

Step 2. Click on Layout tab  Merge group  Merge Cells option

The selected cells get merged into a single cell.

Q5. How can you change column width in a table?

Ans. To change column width in a table, place the mouse pointer over the border of a column. Click
and drag to adjust the column width.

Q6. List the steps for splitting a cell.


Ans. To split a cell, follow the given steps.

Step 1.Select the cell that you want to split.

Step 2. Click on the Layout tab  Merge group  Split Cells option.

Step 3. The Split Cells dialog box appears.

Step 4. Define the number of rows and columns.

Step 5. Click on OK.
