Project Name

The document outlines a proposed decentralized blood donation and matching network aimed at addressing challenges in India's blood donation system, such as lack of real-time data and inefficient matching. The solution includes a mobile application for donors and hospitals, a blockchain ledger for secure records, and an AI-based demand prediction model. Success metrics include faster emergency response times, increased voluntary donations, and reduced blood wastage, with a goal of onboarding over 10,000 donors and 500 hospitals in the pilot phase.

DECENTRALIZED BLOOD DONATION AND MATCHING NETWORK
GEEK VERSE
Problem Statement
Decentralized Blood Donation and Matching Network
🔴 Current Challenges in India – Blood Donation and Matching
1. Lack of Real-Time Data and Visibility
Most blood banks operate in silos with little to no real-time data sharing.
Hospitals often struggle to locate available blood units promptly, especially in rural or emergency situations.
2. Inefficient Matching System
Manual systems or outdated databases are used to match donors and recipients.
Delays occur due to poor coordination and inability to rapidly filter donors by blood type, availability, and location.
3. Geographical Disparities
Blood availability varies drastically between urban and rural areas.
Rural hospitals often lack sufficient infrastructure and connectivity to blood banks.
4. Logistical and Cold Chain Issues
Blood must be stored and transported under strict conditions, which is a challenge in remote regions.
Mismanagement or delays can lead to wastage of a valuable resource.
5.Low Awareness & Participation
Despite campaigns, voluntary blood donation rates remain low.
Many potential donors are unaware of local needs or donation camps.
6.No Unified National Registry
There's no centralized, digital donor registry accessible to all stakeholders (donors, blood banks, hospitals).
Existing systems are fragmented across states or NGOs, leading to duplication and inefficiency.

Proposed Solution
#Application for Donors & Hospitals : Easy registration, alerts, location-based requests, and rewards for regular donors
#Blockchain Ledger: Secure, tamper-proof records of donor history, donations, and transfusions.
#Analytics Dashboard for Health Authorities : Provides population-level insights on blood supply and Shows live
inventory of blood banks and availability of donors.
#Geolocation-Based Matching: * Prioritizes donors and blood banks within the nearest radius. * Reduces transport
time and preserves blood quality.
#Donation Appointment Scheduler: AI-optimized time slots to reduce waiting periods at donation centers
Calendar integration with real-time updates on center capacity
#Token-Based Incentive System:Encourages frequent voluntary
donations with redeemable points or recognition.
#Automated Eligibility Check:Pre-donation questionnaire with
AI verification,Temporary deferral tracking with automatic
reactivation notifications
#AI based Demand prediction Model : to predict which Blood group is
required more in the region .
#The community system : include peer support networks, recognition
systems, and local awareness campaigns.
