3.numerical On Equivalent Values of Load Parameter

The document discusses equivalent values of drive parameters in motors driving different loads, including examples of calculations for equivalent inertia and power developed. It details scenarios involving both rotational and translational motions, providing specific parameters like inertia, torque, and efficiency. The author, Shraddha Aniket Sawant, presents these concepts with practical examples to illustrate the calculations involved.

of Drive Parameter
Let’s revise
5

K.E. Due to equivalent inertia must be same as K.E. Of various moving parts. Thus
6

Power at loads and motor must be same.

A motor drives two loads. One has
9 rotational motion. It is coupled to the
motor through a reduction gear with
a=0.1 and efficiency of 90%.The load has
a moment of inertia of 10kg-m2 and a
torque of 10 N-m. Other load has
translational motion and consists of
1000kg weight to be lifted up at a uniform
Speed of 1.5 m/s. Coupling between this
load and the motor has an efficiency of
85 %. Motor has inertia of 0.2 kg-m2 and
runs at a constant speed of 1420 rpm.
Determine equivalent inertia referred to
the motor shaft and power developed by
the motor.

A motor drives four loads, two have rotational motion and two
translation motion. Moment of inertia of the motor is 1.2 kg-m2.
Motor runs at speed of 1000 rpm. Following are the details about four
loads.
Load Types of motion Speed Inertia/mass Torque/Force

I Rotational 200rpm 7 kg-m2 10 N-m

II Rotational 200rpm 5 kg-m2 6 N-m

III Translational 10 m/s 10 kg 20N

IV Translational 10 m/s 20 kg 30N

Calculate the equivalent inertia of the system referred to the motor shaft
and power rating of the motor, assuming negligible loss in the
transmission system.
