Preventing Injury and Damage B-3
Preventing This section provides guidelines for preventing electrical injury and protecting components
Injury and from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
Damage

Preventing Shock  ALWAYS power equipment OFF at the Power Switch.

Regardless of the type of procedure, set all Power Switches to OFF when servicing the
game, Top Box, or other equipment.
 Unplug equipment from the outlet if not handling ESD-sensitive components.
 Exercise caution when working around electrical equipment.

Preventing ESD  ALWAYS wear an ESD wrist strap.

Fasten a resistive type (1 or 10 Meg) ESD wrist strap on arm and ensure that it makes good
skin contact, Figure 1 (A). Secure the clip end of the wrist strap to a nearby ground point.
Suggested grounds points are:
 An unpainted or bare exposed metal area of the game cabinet or equipment enclosure.
 Any labeled ESD common ground point, Figure 1.
Figure 1 ESD wrist strap (left) and ESD common ground point symbol (right).

 Ground equipment when handling ESD-sensitive components.

When accessing printed circuit boards (PCBs) or components in direct contact with PCBs,
including EPROMs, CompactFlash® Cards, and PCB connectors, connect the three-prong
equipment line cord to a properly grounded outlet. Then, secure the clip end of the ESD wrist
strap to an unpainted or bare exposed metal area of the game cabinet or equipment
enclosure.

Replacing/Repairing AC Line Cord

If the AC Line Cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer (Scientific Games
Corporation), its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Properly Secure and Before performing any service tasks, the cabinet, top/accessory box, and kiosks must be
Vent All Equipment properly secured and installed, with adequate ventilation, as described in the corresponding
service manual and user guide. Failure to properly install, secure, and vent cabinets and kiosks
may cause injury and equipment damage.

Table 4-3 SIOC run time error codes.
P5 Power Up State 5 HALT SIOC Reset Required This is a known bug in SIOC code version 37 and has been
fixed in SIOC version 48. An SIOC reset will clear this
condition but can only be performed by connecting a debug
cable to debug port of the CPU inside the logic box. Using
the WinSIOC application you can reset the SIOC. A
document will be created to provide instructions on how to
perform the SIOC Reset Procedure.

*FS Check – Field Service needs to check this before sending the CPU back for service.
*RMA (Return Material Authorization) – Error code indicates a CPU failure that cannot be serviced or checked in the field
and is to be returned using an RMA.
*PVM - removable fan tray
*DCM - DC Module
*PSM - the Power Supply Module
