EEE 2210: Analog Electronics Laboratory

Title: Design and implementation of an analog circuit using op-amp and MOSFET.

Objective
1. Design an analog circuit using op-amp and MOSFET to perform some assigned functions.
2. Assemble the designed analog circuit using discrete.
3. Test the designed analog circuit for different input signals.
4. Demonstrate the circuit performance successfully.
5. Design the circuit as per specifications and perform a simulation using an engineering modern tool beforecoming to the lab
with a partial report.

Equipment
1) MOSFET
2) Op-amp IC
3) The necessary number of resistors, inductors, and capacitors,
4) DC sources
5) Breadboard
6) A Multimeter
7) A Function Generator
8) A Laptop with the Multisim simulation tool.
Tasks
i. Study the recent technologies to incorporate suitable equipment in their design to find the desired output.
ii. Design the circuit beforehand and simulate it in a circuit simulator (students must demonstrate theircapability of using
any Modern Engineering Tool) to understand the operation of their proposed design.
iii. Implement the hardware during laboratory class time and adjust it to achieve the design goal.
iv. Maintain the ethics and standards of professional engineers.
v. Find the measured and calculated outputs and their differences and then find the percentage of errors.
vi. Compare experimental and simulation data obtained for the designed analog circuit by the simulation tool.

OEL Report
To write an OEL report, please follow the same template as the Lab Report. An OEL report should include thefollowing sections:

a) Objectives
This is the main problem statement. It provides the overall direction for laboratory investigation and must beaddressed in the
conclusion. Please follow the objective writing procedures of your lab manual.

b) Equipment
• A list of all laboratory equipment/tools used for the experiment including the simulation tool.
• A detailed and labeled diagram to illustrate the setup of the experiment, either drawn using somediagramming
application or from the design software itself.
• List of all the different components used.

c) Circuit Diagram
• A comprehensive system block diagram identifying all sub-circuits and their various purposes.
• A complete circuit schematic identifying all component values.
• A photograph of the hardware implementation as a piece of evidence that the student has performed thetasks.

d) Procedures
• Brief description of the theory behind the conflicting performance requirements, limitations, and reasoning behind design
choices including the detailed specifications of the design.
• Step-by-step procedure carefully explained in a numbered sequence.
• Alternate design options should be explored through parameter sweeps and justification for the selectionshould be provided
later in the results section.
• The procedure should be detailed and contain the explanation of usual jargon to ensure that the readers can understand how the
experiment should be performed and replicate the results by following the same process.

e) Results and Data analysis

• Show all the data obtained in the experiment in the tabular format with necessary plots.
• Oscilloscope images, simulation screenshots, etc. demonstrating that the circuit meets the designspecifications.
• Analysis of data using appropriate graphs, plots, simulation results, etc. if needed.

f) Discussions and Conclusions

• Comment on how many objectives mentioned in the problem statement are achieved.
• Identify any questionable data or limitations in results and explain the possible source of any errors.
