FINAL WORK

IS219 SYSTEMS SIMULATION

PRESENTATION
The purpose of the final project is for the student to develop a simulation project (real case),
for which a case of analysis (Process) will be selected, which will allow applying everything
learned in the course.
PARTICIPANTS
Groups of 5 students will be formed per team.
Each team will be advised by the course professor, who will guide them in the execution.
project.
CRITERIA FOR CHOOSING THE PROCESS.
The process has some kind of problem, for example, it is not being complied with.
time in which it must be carried out, has high operational cost or has little result
satisfactory.
2. Having access to data that corresponds to the times required to execute each
activity of the process.
3. It is necessary to define the process regarding the number of activities, the ideal for the
work is between 8 and 10 activities.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The model will be developed using Arena or Promodel software.
2. The selected topic will be one related to the profile of the field of study.
3. One must work with real statistical data collected from the system under analysis,
even if it is a minimal percentage and where no statistical data is available
They will take some assumptions.
4. The collected statistical data must be analyzed and the function must be determined.
of probability that can represent them, this will be done with the input Analyzer module
of Arena

2. The simulation model (model 1) of the process under analysis, which represents the state
current of the system.
3. The simulation model with the proposed changes (model 2), this is the new one.
scenario that will be evaluated.
4. Databases used in the fitting of probability distribution functions for
the random variables identified in the process.
5. An annex with the results of the statistical data analysis (analysis with the Input)
Analyzer
6. PowerPoint presentation for the final exhibition.
7. The information is uploaded to a final work link in a single ZIP file
8. Each group will present the topic and the grade will be given individually.
