Important Information
Before you review the list of documents to send to WES, please read this important
information about specific requirements that may apply to you depending on the
credentials you hold and the country or institution where you studied. This
information will ensure that you send the right documents, which may help to
expedite your evaluation.

IRCC asks applicants to submit only their highest completed


credential( ) for an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)( ). Please
review the notes below to determine which credentials you should send.
To avoid delays, do not send additional documents unless they are
requested by WES.
Learn what to send based on your highest completed credential:
If your DEUG, DUT, or Licence is your highest credential, then you do
not need to submit your Diplôme du Bac or BEP.
If your Maîtrise, Master, Diplôme d’Ingénieur, Diplôme de Grandes
Ecoles, DEA, Diplôme d’Etat de Docteur en Médecine, or Diplôme
d’Etat de Docteur en Pharmacie is your highest credential, then you
do not need to submit your DEUG, DUT, or Licence.
If your Diplôme de Docteur is your highest credential, then you do
not need to submit your Maîtrise, Master, Diplôme d’Ingénieur,
Diplôme de Grandes Ecoles, DEA, Diplôme d’Etat de Docteur en
Médecine, or Diplôme d’Etat de Docteur en Pharmacie.

Your ECA report will not contain the following:

Anything below secondary school education (such as primary and


elementary school)
Non-academic credentials( ) (for example: Microsoft Office Training)
Professional or career training qualifications

Do not send original documents. WES does not require any original
documents to process a credential evaluation( ) report. Documents that
you submit for evaluation will not be returned and will be destroyed by
WES at its sole discretion.

Your Requirements Checklist


Please review this list of required documents and how to send them. (Note to
applicants: The checklist of required documents is based on the initial
information you submit as part of your WES application. If the information is
incorrect, we may need to request additional documents.)
1. Academic Transcript( ) (Relevé de Notes)

This is an official document( ) issued by the institution you attended


that lists all subjects taken and grades earned for each year of study.

What you need to do:

Option 1

Please ask the institution that awarded your degree to send your
document directly to WES in a sealed envelope( ) that is signed or
stamped across the back flap by the appropriate official at the
institution.

Option 2

If the institution gives you the document to send to WES, it must be


in a sealed envelope. If the envelope is opened or there is no stamp
or signature across the back flap, WES cannot accept the document.

2. Degree Certificate

Clear, legible photocopies of the degree certificate/diploma( ).

How to Send Your Documents

Include Your Reference Number. Before you send documents, you


must complete an application and obtain a reference number. You
must write this reference number on each document that you submit
to WES. WES is not responsible for documents that arrive without a
reference number. Documents that arrive without a reference
number can create delays.

Do Not Send Original Documents. WES does not require any


original documents. Documents that you submit will not be returned
and will be destroyed by WES at its sole discretion.

Ask About Sending Digital Documents. Sending your academic


documents digitally can expedite the completion of your report. Find
out if your institution has a digital partnership with WES. Encourage
them to get started today (https://www.wes.org/digital-
partnership-form/).
Pay the shipping charges. If you or your institution are sending your
documents through a courier service, you must pay the shipping
charges. WES is not responsible for unpaid shipping charges or any
customs fees.
