(Kannada) With A Diagram, Explain The Working of 2

The document explains the working of a transformer, which is used to vary AC voltages based on the principle of mutual induction. It describes how the alternating current in the primary coil induces an alternating emf in the secondary coil, with the voltage ratio depending on the number of turns in each coil. Additionally, it mentions the efficiency of transformers and provides links to video and text solutions for further understanding.

A transformer is a device used for

varying AC voltages. It works on the
principle of mutual induction. Working :
As the current through the primary
varies, the magnetic flux linked with the
secondary also varies. As a result,
alternating emf of the same frequency is
induced across the secondary. The
magnitude of the induced voltage in the
secondary, depends on the voltage
across primary. If Vp and Vs are the input

and output voltages respectively and Np

and Ns are the number of turns in the

primary and secondary respectively then
M
Vs Ns
= =T
Vp Np

power output = power input

vs Ip

vp Is

for practical transformer efficiency

Vs I s
