Step 7: Apply effect to your video using the effects panel, such as color filters, blur, sharpness,
or cinematic looks. You can also use keyframes to animate these effects---for example,
gradually increase the intensity of fade in or moving object smoothly across the screen.

Step 8: Go to export and choose your export settings (format, resolution, etc). Click Export to
Desktop and save your final video.

Lab 11: Create a timeline-based animation using a software tool of your choice. Explain
the concept of timeline-based animation and describe the steps involved in creating the
animation.

THEORY:
Timeline-based animation is a method of creating motion by using keyframes placed along a
timeline. Each keyframe represents a specific point in time where you define how an object
should appear—like its position, rotation, scale, or opacity. Photoshop smoothly fills in the
frames between keyframes to create the illusion of continuous movement. This technique is
perfect for making animations like moving shapes, fading text, or rotating graphics.
Steps to Create a Timeline-Based Animation in Photoshop
Create a New Document:
➢ Open Photoshop and create a new document (e.g., 1920x1080 pixels).
Draw the Square:
➢ Select the Oval Tool and draw an Oval circle.
➢ Rename the layer to "Circle" for better organization.
Open the Timeline:
➢ Go to Window > Timeline
➢ Click Create Video Timeline to enable animation features.
Add Keyframes:
➢ Select the Transform property in the Timeline panel.
➢ At Frame 0, click the stopwatch icon next to Transform to create the first keyframe.
Rotate and Resize the Square:
➢ Move the playhead forward on the timeline.
➢ Use Free Transform (Ctrl+T / Cmd+T) to rotate and resize the circle.
➢ Photoshop will auto-generate new keyframes for the changes.
Preview the Animation:
➢ Press Play in the Timeline panel to see the animation in action.
Export the Animation:
➢ Go to File > Export > Render Video to export as a video.
➢ To save as a GIF: File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy).

Conclusion
In this lab, we explored how timeline-based animation provides precise control over object
movement and transformation. By using keyframes, motion tweens, and easing effects, we
were able to create smooth and visually engaging animations.

The steps below provide a detailed breakdown of the process we followed to animate the text
and other graphical elements.
Creating an Animation in Canva:
1. Set Up the Project and Elements
➢ Create a New Design: Open Canva and click Create a Design → Choose Custom Size
(e.g., 500x500 pixels).
➢ Add Text & Graphics: Insert any text and any graphic elements of your choice.
➢ Layer Management: Arrange elements properly, as Canva does not support layer-
based animation.
2. Apply Animations
➢ Select an Element: Click on the text or graphic you want to animate.
➢ Choose an Animation: Go to the Animate option in the top menu and choose effects
like: Fade up, Blur, Fade In etc and typewriter or Neon for text effects.

Lab 15:Create simple animated banner ads. Describe the design principles and tools used
to create animated banners. Provide examples of the final banner ads and explain the
animation techniques used.

Design Principles for Animated Banners

1. Visual Hierarchy
The text "NEW YEAR SPECIAL" uses different colors and font sizes to guide attention,
emphasizing key words.
The product image (Gaming Setup Tools) is prominent, ensuring the focus remains on the
product.
2. Consistency and Branding
The color scheme and typography are consistent, reinforcing the brand’s identity.
Familiar elements like sale tags maintain consistency with common e-commerce visuals.
3. Simplicity
The design avoids clutter, using a clean layout with ample negative space, making the message
clear and easy to digest.
4. Call to Action (CTA)
The phrase " NEW YEAR SPECIAL " serves as a CTA, encouraging viewers to take action
(browse or purchase).
Tools Used to Create Animated Banners
1. Canva
➢ Layer Management: Organizes text, images, and shapes for easy editing and
animation.
➢ Text Tool: Adds and customizes text elements.
➢ Shape Tool: Creates geometric elements like backgrounds.
➢ Animation Timeline: Enables transitions or scene-based animations.
2. Animation Techniques
➢ Creates effects like fade-in, fade-out, or movement of elements (e.g., Gaming setup,
text).
➢ Generates smooth transitions between different pages with different animation effects.

Rahul Kumar Jha

Bsc.Csit 5th sem
Example of Final Banner Ads
1. Rotating Product View
➢ The Chair and Gaming remote move from one side to another, right to left and left to
right drawing attention.
2. Text Animation
➢ The words " NEW YEAR SPECIAL" animate with slide-out or slide-in effect, making
the CTA more engaging.
3. Sale Tags Animation
➢ Sale tags pulse or flash, highlighting discounts or special offers to capture attention.
4. Other Animation Effects
➢ Fading in/out different elements like the shoes or sale tags.
➢ Sliding text from various directions to add motion.
➢ Pulsing effects on sale tags for emphasis.

These design principles and animation techniques help create visually appealing and effective
animated banner ads.
