Introduction to Exploratory Data Analysis
(EDA)
• What is EDA?
• Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) is the process of analyzing and
investigating data sets to summarize their main characteristics, often using
visual methods.
• It’s the first step in data analysis before applying any machine learning or
statistical modeling.
Objectives of EDA:

• To understand the dataset and its features.

• To identify trends, patterns, and relationships between variables.
• To detect missing or incorrect data.
• To prepare the data for further statistical analysis or machine learning.
Common EDA Techniques:
1. Descriptive Statistics 2. Data Visualization
3. Data Cleaning 4. Correlation Analysis
Basic Data Visualization
Introduction:
• Data Visualization is the process of converting raw data into visual formats like
charts and graphs to make it easier to understand, analyze, and communicate
insights.
Basic Data Visualization Tools:
1. Microsoft Excel 2. Google Sheets
3. Tableau (Optional/Advanced in some syllabi) 4. Power BI
5. R (with ggplot2) 6.Python (using libraries like Matplotlib)
Conclusion
• Data visualization is a powerful technique that helps transform raw data into
meaningful visual formats such as charts, graphs, and plots.
• It allows users to easily understand complex information, identify trends,
spot outliers, and communicate findings effectively.
