1 FIRST GENARATION

1940-1956
These early computers used
vacuum tubes as circuitry and
magnetic drums for memory.

SECOND
GENORATION 1956-1963 2

The Second Generation of computers

replaced vacuum tubes with transistors
which made computers a lot faster.

THIRD
3
GENERATION 1964-1971
The third generation of computers
used Integrated Circuits (IC)
instead of transistor technology.

FOURTH
GENERATION 1972-2010 4

The fourth generation computers

were developed by using
microprocessor technology.

5 Fifth Generation 2010-PRESENT
