ABSTRACT
Title: HPC Resource Optimization With Resource Recommendation Model
High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments are increasingly utilized for complex
computational tasks across various domains. However, optimizing resource usage in these environments remains a significant challenge, often leading to inefficiencies, increased costs, and longer processing times. The proposed work presents a Resource Recommendation Model designed to optimize resource allocation in HPC systems. The model leverages machine learning techniques to analyze historical job data, including resource usage patterns, execution times, and job characteristics. By identifying trends and correlations, the model can predict the optimal combination of computational resources—such as CPU, memory, and storage—required for future tasks. This predictive capability allows for dynamic resource provisioning, ensuring that jobs receive just the right number of resources, thereby reducing underutilization and avoiding bottlenecks. Additionally, the model incorporates feedback mechanisms to continuously refine its predictions, adapting to changing workloads and system configurations by using machine learning algorithms. Preliminary results demonstrate that implementing this model in an HPC environment can lead to significant improvements in resource efficiency, reduced job wait times, and lower operational costs. This approach provides a scalable solution to resource management challenges, making it particularly beneficial for large-scale HPC centers that handle diverse and unpredictable workloads.
