You work for a Network Development Company called ICT Solutions.


Scenario Your client, “Graphix” is a graphic design company, who wants ICT Solutions to
design and develop a small client-side computer network server for Mr Harry
Smith’s team so they can collaborate with each other. Currently a team of 8
people are working in the office.
Members of the Network:
1. Mr Harry Smith - Admin
2. Mr Daniel Martinez - Finance
3. Mr John Wick - Finance
4. Mr Keppel Colin - Web Development
5. Mr Harry Peter - Web Development
6. Mr Wayne Johnson - Graphic Designer
7. Mr Kent Clark - Graphic Designer
8. Ms Jessica Jones – Graphic Designer

All 8 standalone computers are connected to one laser printer.

Start here (What they need to have)

1. All team members must be able to access and use the computer network.

2. The Administrator (Mr Smith) must be able to add more users, changing
access rights, setting login restrictions and change passwords for existing users.

3. All team members must have their own individual folder and own account with
full access rights. Each person should have different privileges.
4. Everyone should be able to access each other folders with different access
rights for example Read-Only. The folders need to be configured for at least 6
different people.

5. Everyone will be working with 8 folders and 12 files on the network.

3. The computer network should make use of remote desktop to allow the Admin
to take control of other users in the network. Also having installed utility software
such as an Antivirus and Firewall to maintain the network.
