Aim: To understand & learn to draw various Lines, Circles, Arcs, Rectangles, Polygons in
SolidWorks.
1) LINE:

1.1) INSERT LINE PROPERTY MANAGER - 2D:

 Enables the user to sketch multiple 2D lines. For each 2D line to be sketched, user can select
different combinations of settings under ‘Orientation’, ‘Options’, or ‘Parameters’.

 To open the Insert Line Property Manager: In a sketch, click ‘Line’ on the Sketch toolbar, or click
Tools > Sketch Entities > Line.

1.2) ORIENTATION:

i) As  With the click-drag method, sketch a line in any direction until user release
sketched the pointer.
 With the click-click method, sketch a line in any direction, and continue
sketching other lines in any direction, until user double-click.
ii) Horizontal Sketch a horizontal line until user releases the pointer.
iii) Vertical Sketch a vertical line until user releases the pointer.
iv) Angle Sketch a line at an angle until user release the pointer. The angle is created relative to
the horizontal.

1.3) OPTIONS:

All of the four line-orientations mentioned under ‘Orientation’ allow user to select either of the following
under ‘Options’ tab:

i) For construction Creates a construction line.

ii) Infinite length Creates a line of infinite length that user can later trim.
iii) Midpoint line Creates a line that is symmetrical from the midpoint of the line.

1.4) Parameters
 Appears when user select any orientation except As sketched.
 The following Parameters are available with the following Orientation.
