Kenwood TH-F6A Step-by-Step Programming Guide

Set the radio to communicate with a repeater at 147.080+ MHz, 77.0 Hz
0. Turn on the radio and make sure it’s unlocked 5. Go to AUTO OFFSET (item 5)

1. Press VFO, then ENT 6. Set the auto repeater shift

2. Set the frequency M NU - ON - M NU

1-4-7-0-8-0 7. Set the transm it pow er level

3. If the + sign appears at the top, skip to step 7 Press LOW until H appears

4. Get into the menu 8. Press TONE repeatedly until T appears, then

M NU F - TONE - 77.0 - OK

Your radio is now set to transm it as specified

Store and name the current repeater and tone settings in a memory channel
0. Follow the procedure above to set your radio 4. Press M R to enter M emory mode, then select
for the frequency of your choice the channel you want named

1. Press F 5. Enter the name editor

2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the channel F-9


number
6. Turn the knob until your letter of choice
3. Press M NU appears, then press OK to m ove to the next
letter
The frequency is now stored in radio memory
7. Press OK to conclude editing

The stored m em ory channel now has a name

Recall a stored memory setting


1. Press M R

2. Turn the knob until you reach the desired channel

The stored channel is now ready for use


Set the radio to communicate at 146.740 MHz simplex
Note: the Kenwood TH-F6A will automatically turn 3. If neither the + nor - sign appears at the top,
off repeater offsets if its current frequency falls skip to step 7
within the simplex ranges of the ARRL Band Plan
and the AUTO OFFSET (m enu item 5) setting is 4. Get into the menu
ON. So, if the simplex frequency you select is
outside these ranges, you must first set AUTO M NU
OFFSET to OFF.
5. Go to AUTO OFFSET (item 5)
0. Turn on the radio and make sure it’s unlocked
6. Disable the auto repeater shift
1. Press VFO then ENT
M NU - OFF - M NU
2. Set the frequency
7. Set the transm it pow er level
1-4-6-7-4-0
Press LOW until H appears

Your radio is now set to transm it simplex
