What is an Operating System?
An Operating System(OS) is a software that manages and
handles hardware and software resources of a computing
device.
Responsible for managing and controlling all the activities and
sharing of computer resources among different running
applications.
A low-level Software that includes all the basic functions like
processor management, memory management, file
management, etc.
It mainly acts a government for your system that has different
departments to manage different resources.
Examples are Linux, Unix, Windows 11, MS DOS, Android,
macOS and iOS

similar to Windows, Mac, and Android.
Linux is mostly used in servers, cloud computing,
supercomputers, embedded systems, and developer
environments.
Its reliability, scalability, and security make it the
backbone of web hosting, data centers, and IoT devices
What are Linux Distributions ?
A Linux distribution, often shortened to “distro,” is a
packaged version of Linux that comes with the Linux
kernel plus a collection of software and utilities that make
the OS functional and user-friendly.

in VMware Workstation.
Installing VMware on Windows
Step 1: Click on the link provided below. Now select the
version you want to download and click on “Go to
downloads”.

Step 2: Now, Click on download now. (Check which OS
you are selecting).
Step 3: Open the (.exe) file and install it.
