SECTION 1: WEB DEVELOPMENT // (40 Marks)


Question 1
A certain company called TinaSoft wants to conduct an online interview. They want useful information
from the users with some conditions such as:
1. Name: The name must be filled (i.e it is required)
2. Email address
3. Zip code
4. Age: required and must be between 18 and 35 years
5. Driving License: must indicate if it is available or not
6. Other Information: optional
Using HTML5 code design the Form as seen in Figure 1 (16 marks)

Explain the following types of Web Applications , giving an example
a) Single page application
b) Multi-page application
c) Server-less application (4marks x 3 = 12 marks)

Give the role of the following protocols on the Internet and their default Port numbers.
a) HTTP

c) SMTP
d) POP 3 (3marks x 4 = 12 marks)

SECTION 2: INTERFACE CREATION // (40 MARKS)


Question 1: Using a Suitable GUI tool, design an interface and create a code to perform the operations
as seen in Figure 2 below:
When a user enters a 1st and 2nd number in the appropriate text boxes and clicks on any button on the
left, the appropriate arithmetic operation is executed and result is displayed in the appropriate text box.
When the Clear button is clicked, it clears off any information in the text boxes, then on clicking on the
Exit button, the application is closed. (20 Marks)

Question 2: A school TINA POLYTECH wants to move from manual student information recording
to computerized system and a sample design for their system is displayed below. Using Visual Basis,
or any suitable Graphical User Interface (GUI) design tool design this user interface for the said school
as seen below. (NO CODING REQUIRED). (20marks)
