Whatever Doesnt Kill Me . Teir sound has been de-
scribed as loud, powerful and fast alternative hard rock.
Finger Eleven is sure to be a welcome addition to rock
fans festival experience this summer. RFM promoter,
Tom Crook, is currently busy trying to confrm other
acts to fll this years music line-up.
Te big main stage at the lower concert bowl
returned for last years festival and was something or-
ganizers have been working towards since year one of
RFM, which is celebrating its ninth year this summer.
Over those past eight years, numerous local service
clubs and volunteer groups have assisted with making
RFM a success in return for a fnancial contribution
back to each group as a way to give back to the com-
munity. Last years festival saw a payout to these groups
of $25,000 bringing RFMs total contribution back to the
local groups to $105,000.

Skate the Lake donates $7,000
By AMANDA BOYD
M
innedosas Skate
the Lake and Minor
Hockey presented MREC
with a cheque for $7,000
last Wednesday evening,
March 14th. The pond
hockey tournament held
February 18th and 19th
was deemed a great suc-
cess by organizers. Con-
tributions made by the
local community and
independent businesses
enable this fundraiser to
continue.
If we didnt have
the Town provide the ice
prep and we had to pay
for the heat from Supe-
rior Propane; it would
never happen, Skate the
Lake committee member,
Dan Johnson remarked.
We actually saw a bill
one year for $2,600 for
one weekend of propane
heat and we havent paid
a dime in six years. The
Town of Minnedosa uses
its equipment and re-
sources to clear six small
rinks on the lake each
year and this year de-
signed runways between
each rink so players could
get changed and skate
right out to their respec-
tive rinks.
There were kids that
put their skates on at 9:00
a.m. and never took them
off all day, said Skate the
Lake committee member,
Wes Barrett.
Thats a lot of work
that those (Town) guys
do, Johnson agreed.
They got out on the ice
in December and it was
great.
Over the last three
years, Skate the Lake
has donated $21,800 to
MREC, with $8,000 do-
nated in 2010 and $6,800
given last year. MREC rep-
resentative, Bob Graham,
expressed the Boards
gratitude in receiving the
donated funds. On be-
half of MREC, thank you
very much! We really ap-
preciate this.
