1. Have you attended/participated in the Capacity Building for Volunteer Tutors?

2. If yes, what are the necessary knowledge and skills you have acquired in the capacity
building that you are able to apply in the actual tutorial sessions?
I learned effective communication skills, lesson planning, and techniques for teaching
foundational reading and numeracy. I also gained patience and strategies for dealing with
learners who have different learning paces.

3. How would you rate the tutees in terms of their participation/engagement?

4. As a tutor, were you able to utilize the results of the pretest in terms of the learners'
literacy/Reading and numeracy skills?
Yes, the pretest helped me identify the areas where each learner needed the most support. It
guided me in customizing my teaching approach for each student.

5. What would you consider the strength/s of the project/tutorial session?


The one-on-one attention given to learners, the supportive environment, and the structured
materials provided. The project really helped bridge the learning gaps.

6. What would you consider the weakness/es or area/s needing improvement of the
project/tutorial session?
Sometimes, there was a lack of available learning materials. Also, some sessions felt too
short to cover all the planned activities.

7. Are you satisfied with the way the project/tutorial session/s has been
conducted/implemented?
Yes, I’m satisfied. It was well-organized and we received proper guidance as volunteer tutors.

8. Do you have any suggestion/s or recommendation/s to further improve the


implementation of the project/tutorial session?
It would help to have more updated and varied teaching resources, and maybe longer tutorial
hours or more sessions per week.

9. What strategies/methods/approaches/pedagogical principles in teaching and learning


were you able to apply in the conduct of the project/tutorial session?
I used differentiated instruction, scaffolding, and positive reinforcement. I also applied some
basic principles of constructivism, encouraging learners to discover through guided practice.

10. What knowledge and skills did you learn from the project/tutorial session that you
can apply in your future job/career?
I learned how to teach in a flexible and learner-centered way, adapt to different learning
styles, and how to manage small groups. I also improved my confidence in facilitating
lessons.
11. How would you apply these knowledge and skills when you become teachers or
professionals in the field?
I will use these skills to create inclusive and effective lesson plans, assess learners’ needs,
and provide individualized support. These experiences have helped me become more
responsive and empathetic as a future educator.

community residents or organizations after attending and learning from the
project/tutorial session?
Yes, I’m willing to share what I’ve learned by organizing mini-tutorials or training sessions
in my community.

a. What strategies did I employ to my tutee/s in carrying out the desired objectives of
the topic?
To achieve the objectives, I used simple and relatable examples to explain the lessons. I
incorporated games and interactive activities to keep my tutees engaged. I also used
scaffolding—starting with easier tasks and gradually increasing the difficulty. Regular
feedback and positive reinforcement helped motivate them throughout the sessions.

b. What are my strengths and weaknesses as a tutor? What are the strengths and
weaknesses of my tutee/s?
As a tutor, my strengths include patience, creativity in teaching, and the ability to adjust my
approach depending on the learner’s needs. My weakness is that sometimes I struggle with
time management, especially when we get too focused on one activity.

My tutees' strengths are their willingness to learn, their enthusiasm, and their ability to grasp
concepts when explained clearly. However, some of them need improvement in focus and
confidence, especially when faced with unfamiliar tasks.

c. What are the significant learning experiences that I obtained in the tutorial session?
I learned how important it is to be flexible and understanding when teaching. Every learner is
different, and adapting to their needs is key. I also realized how rewarding it is to see students
improve, even in small ways. Most importantly, I developed better communication,
leadership, and problem-solving skills which I know will be helpful in my future career.
