Hello, thank you for purchasing my After Effects project "Vintage Slide Projector Photo Gallery"

- Ricardas Marozas

This is what you will be seeing when you open the project file. Tutorial is for MS Windows interface.

All of the files, layers and pre-compositions used to make this project are in the "[Assets]" folder - you do not
need to do anything with it.
"18 Image Composition", "28 Image Composition" and " 40 Image Composition" folders contain the final
AE compositions you will be using for your photo gallery. Each folder contains 4 compositions: 1080p Vintage
and regular (no filters) comps, and 720p Vintage and regular comps.
"Insert Your Images or Videos" folder is where you will find pre-comps for all 40 image placeholders (edit the
first 18 if you are making 18 image photo gallery, first 28 for 28 image gallery and all 40 for 40 image gallery).
You will have to open these pre-comps and drag-drop your photos/videos on top of the composition (above
the image Nr. text layer).
"Insert Your Text" folder contains the text placeholders for your intro and ending titles/subtitles and several
multi-image scenes (these already have proper text so you can keep it if you like it, enter your own text or
delete the text altogether if you don't need it in your final video).
"Replace Audio" is where you will find blank 2:22, 3:06 and 4:06 length MP3 files. Replace those with your
music/audio depending on which composition you will be using.
"My files" is an empty folder where you could place your photos/videos to keep the workplace clean.
Adding images

I.e., you want to make the 18 image composition. Drag and drop your photos/videos into the "My files" folder:

Now open the "Insert Your Images or Videos" folder and open "Image 01" composition (if the composition
window is empty, just click anywhere on timeline for it to appear). Drag and drop your image/video on top of it
(or above the text layer). Re-size the image/video to fit the composition dimensions. Repeat for other images.
Adding video

It is just as simple to add a video file into the image placeholder. Drag and drop the video file on top of desired
image composition, and re-size it to fit the composition dimensions. Remember that every image in this project
appears for a limited amount of time (from 5 to 13 seconds), so you need to make sure that it starts and ends
where you want it to and where it will be visible (just slide is left/right in the timeline).

Adding your text

Expand the "Insert Your Text" folder. Open the "Your intro text here" composition to enter your title and
subtitle. Select the "Type tool" (Ctrl+T in Windows) to be able to edit the text layers. Change font, font size,
leading and other parameters if you need to. Do the same for other text comps.
Replacing audio track

To replace audio you will need to open the "Replace Audio" folder, right-click on the file you need, go to
"Replace footage" > "File" and select your audio file in browser window (soundtrack should be aprox. the same
length as the composition: 2:22 for 18 images, 3:06 for 28 images and 4:06 for 40 images). The other method
to do it (if you will be using, i.e. a looping audio file) is to drag and drop the audio file on top of the final
composition.

Rendering the final composition

I.e., you are making an 18 image composition and you have

added all 18 images/videos, entered your text and replaced
audio.
Now go to "18 Image Composition" folder, select the
composition resolution (1080p or 720p) and type (Vintage or
regular). With the final composition opened, go to
"Composition" at the top left of the screen, and click "Add to
Render Queue". Click "Lossless" to go to Output Module
Settings and select video format, codec and bitrate (Format
Options tab). I recommend QuickTime format with H.264 codec
and 25.600 kbps bitrate. Make sure that "Audio Output" is
checked. Now select your video's name and location. Click
"Render" and wait for your finished video (render time depends
on your system specs.).
Enjoy your vintage photo gallery.
