Development Proposal: Machine Health Status Dashboard

1. Overview

This proposal outlines the development of a private, single-page dashboard for

Daikibo, designed to provide real-time health status monitoring for machinery across
four factory locations. The solution will aggregate telemetry data from individual
machines, offering a consolidated view of operational status accessible exclusively
within Daikibo's intranet. The dashboard will feature collapsible/expandable views at
both the factory and device levels, including historical status information. This system
aims to enhance operational efficiency, facilitate proactive maintenance, and improve
overall equipment effectiveness.

2. Scope

The project scope encompasses the development of a web-based dashboard with

the following key functionalities:
● Real-time Machine Status: The dashboard will display the current health status
of nine machines in each of Daikibo's four factories (36 machines total).
● Intranet Accessibility: Access to the dashboard will be restricted to Daikibo's
internal network, ensuring data security.
● Internal Authentication: User authentication will be integrated with Daikibo's
existing internal authentication server, allowing employees to use their standard
company credentials.
● Single-Page Interface: The dashboard will be presented on a single page for
ease of navigation and a unified view.
● Hierarchical View:
○ Factory Level: The dashboard will provide a high-level overview of the health
status for each of the four factories. Users can collapse or expand factory
views.
○ Device Level: Within each factory view, users can see the individual status of
the nine machines. Users can collapse or expand individual device views to
see historical status data.
● Status History: When expanded, device views will display a history of status
changes, enabling trend analysis and diagnostics.
● Data Visualization: The dashboard will incorporate clear visual indicators (e.g.,
color-coded icons, charts) to represent machine health status, as referenced in
the template's graphics (see Section 3).
● Responsive Design: The dashboard will be designed to be responsive, ensuring
optimal viewing across various screen sizes (desktops, laptops).
3. Visual Reference
● Refer to the graphics included in the template.
○ The template provides mockups illustrating the dashboard layout, including:
■ A high-level view showing factory status (collapsed and expanded).
■ A detailed view showing individual machine status within a factory
(collapsed and expanded).
■ Examples of status indicators (e.g., color-coded icons) representing
different machine health conditions.
■ A sample historical status view, potentially displayed as a time-based
chart.
4. Estimate

The following is a high-level estimate of the man-hours required for this project:
● Development: 240 man-hours
○ Frontend Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript): 120 hours
○ Backend Development (API, Database Integration): 100 hours
○ Authentication Integration: 20 hours
● Testing: 80 man-hours
○ Unit Testing: 30 hours
○ Integration Testing: 30 hours
○ User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: 20 hours
● Integration and Deployment: 40 man-hours
○ Server Configuration: 15 hours
○ Deployment: 15 hours
○ Intranet Integration: 10 hours
● Total Estimated Man-Hours: 360 hours

5. Timeline

The project is estimated to be completed within the following timeline:

● Phase 1: Requirements Gathering and Design (Week 1-2)
○ Detailed requirements finalization
○ UI/UX design and prototyping
○ Database schema design
● Phase 2: Development (Week 3-8)
○ Frontend development
○ Backend development
○ Authentication integration
● Phase 3: Testing (Week 9-10)
○ Unit testing
○ Integration testing
○ User acceptance testing
● Phase 4: Deployment and Integration (Week 11-12)
○ Intranet deployment
○ System integration
○ Documentation and training

6. Support

We are committed to providing ongoing support for the Machine Health Status
Dashboard. This includes:
● Bug Fixes: Prompt resolution of any identified software defects.
● Technical Support: Availability of a support channel (e.g., ticketing system,
email) for addressing technical inquiries and issues.
● Maintenance: Regular maintenance to ensure system stability and performance.
● Future Enhancements: We are available to discuss and implement future
enhancements or new functionalities as Daikibo's needs evolve.
