10 IC Second Model(Jan 2024-25)

General Instructions to be followed for Board Exam :

1. Make sure to write words for MCQs instead of options
2. For match the following type of questions, write answers in the
following way :
Qn -1
a. Acid Salt - Black in colour
b. Copper Oxide - Soluble in excess sodium hydroxide
c. Zinc Hydroxide - Sodium Hydrogen carbonate
Answers ✅Dos
a Acid Salt - Sodium Hydrogen carbonate
b Copper Oxide - Black in colour
c Zinc Hydroxide - Soluble in excess sodium hydroxide

Answers ❌Don’ts
a Acid Salt - Sodium Hydrogen carbonate
b - Black in Colour
c Zinc Hydroxide - b

a Acid Salt - Black in colour

b Copper Oxide - Soluble in excess sodium hydroxide
c Zinc Hydroxide - Sodium Hydrogen carbonate

3. If Question says
“Copy and complete the following paragraph using the options given in brackets”, write the
full paragraph along with your answers.

4. For numericals, the answer with the unit fetches 1 mark and if one question is only for 2
marks, only the key step and the answer will fetch marks.

Eg :
One variety of household fuel is a mixture of propane(60 %) and butane(40 %). If 2o litres of
this mixture is burnt, find the total volume of carbon dioxide added to the atmosphere. The
combination reactions are :

C 3H8 + 5O2 → 3CO2 + 4H2O

2C 4H10 + 13O2 → 8CO2 + 10H2O (2 marks)
Marking Scheme : 1 mark - Final Answer, 1 mark - Finding the Volume of CO2 produced by
combustion of propane and butane.(No half mark if one of these calculations is correct)
