What students bring to the course


● We recognize that students enter their professional programs with diverse
prior experiences and backgrounds.
● For example:
○ some students have an undergraduate degree or may have
already worked in healthcare
○ some students have transferable collaboration skills from
previous careers and experiences
○ some students are new to University and have limited work
experiences
Course Expectations
‘IPE happens when two or more professionals learn from each
other, with each other, and about each other to improve
collaboration and quality of care.’

➢ From uni professional to interprofessional identity/mindset
➢ This course will give you some tools to help you collaborate
better
Course Expectations

1. Actively participate in team discussion forums and final team assignment


(feel free to go beyond what is required!)
2. Attend at least ONE scheduled IPE team meeting (time TBD by team,
could be at the Launch)
3. Demonstrate attitudes and behaviours that build a culture of inclusivity,
mutual respect, and trust.
The IP Launch on October 4th/September 26th!

➢ The Interprofessional (IP) Education Pathway Launch is


being held on Friday, October 4th, 2024 (or Sept 26th
for Calgary students) at Health Sciences Education and
Research Commons (HSERC), ECHA and Katz
Building, University of Alberta.
➢ You will be assigned to an IP team and a timeslot (from
8am to 2pm)
○ This will be your IP teams, minus the Calgary
students who will be attending an event at U of C
September 26th
➢ Your attendance is mandatory and counts for marks in
your IP teams’ final assignment
➢ The learning activities from the launch will be drawn
upon to complete the final assignment for this course

Go into the IP team forum and introduce yourself and complete


your ORIGINAL POST before Thursday Sept 5th @ 8pm.

Then respond to ONE other team members posts before


Sunday Sept 8th @ 8pm.
