emotional complexity there is in modern American history. I think I used to view historical events
as just facts and dates, but this class really helped me see the human side of everything.
Learning about events like Hurricane Katrina and the Challenger disaster made me realize how
deeply history affects everyday people, and how those moments shape the country in ways that
are still felt today. One of the lessons I think should not be changed is the unit about watershed
moments. That section really stood out to me because it helped connect historical events to the
emotions and memories that people actually lived through. I liked how it made history feel more
real and personal, and it gave us a chance to share our own perspectives which I think made
the assignments more meaningful. As for how the class could be improved, I think more
discussion-based activities or group interactions would help. Sometimes the online format felt a
little distant, so adding more ways for students to connect and reflect together would be great.
What I want you to know about my experience is that I really appreciated how this class pushed
me to think more deeply. It was not just about memorizing facts, it was about understanding how
history lives on today. Thank you for making that possible.
