2. Exporting Logs
There are several different ways to take the information from the MOP
MOP-B and
transfer it to another PC for e.g. submitting to MDT or saving as a backup.
2.1 Using a USB memory stick
By pressing the ‘Export...’ button and inserting a USB memory stick it is
possible to select logs and save them to the USB stick.
Note: Always ensure that any USB memory stick inserted into
the MOP is scanned and cleaned of any malware
malwar

Pressing ‘Save’ moves the log to the USB stick. The format is:
YYYYMMDD
YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS-CCUX-CCUBurstLogger.dat
For the above selected log the file would be:
20110907-063825-CCU1-CCUBurstLogger.dat
20110907
Note that the format cannot be read by e.g. Excel, but it can be reloaded to a
MOP or send to MDT (who can read it).

2.2 Using screen dumps

This method can be used if the information is to be shared with some external
party which does not have the possibility of loading the .dat file on a MOP
(could be the case if sending
sendin it to e.g. owner’s site office).
A. Unlock the MOP by pressing ‘Ctrl
‘ trl + ESC’ (to open the Windows Start
Menu) and selecting ‘MOP Lock’ and then ‘Unlock’

B. Find the HCU Event log that is to be examined, press ‘Show Sequence’
and zoom on the relevant parts.

C. Then press ‘Altlt + Print Scrn’ to save a screen shot to the clip board. If the
‘Print Scrn’ button is placed as an extra function on top of another button on
the keyboard (sometimes ‘SysRq’) then it willwil be necessary to press ‘‘Alt+
Shift + Print Scrn’.

ss ‘Ctrl + ESC’ to open the Windows Start Menu, then open the folder
D. Press
‘System Utilities’. In this folder start the program ‘Paint’.

E. In ‘Paint’ press ‘Ctrl + V’ in order to paste the screen shot

shot taken in step ‘C’
into the drawing.

F. Save the drawing in some suitable location and transfer to USB stick

Note: Always ensure that any USB memory stick inserted into
the MOP is scanned and cleaned of any malware

Using screen dumps is a more accessible method for saving the HCU Events
logs, however data and information
information is lost compared to saving the actual .dat
file.
A screen dump can be recreated on basis of the .dat file using a MOP;
however the .dat file can never be recreated on basis of a screen dump.
Therefore it is recommended to always save the .dat file in
in addition to any
screen dumps.

3. Comments regarding manual HCU Events logs

The HCU Events include a lot of very useful information for e.g.
troubleshooting.
Since the functionality is still relatively new it can however in certain cases be
difficult to make
ake quantitative conclusions based on HCU Events logs taken
during a fault situation (Faulty Situations Logs).
In those cases it is very helpful to have HCU Events Logs from periods where
there were no faults or problems (Normal Days Logs). By comparing N Normal
Days Logs with Faulty Situations Logs it is often possible to make qualitative
conclusions regarding the current problems.
Therefore it is recommended to take manual HCU Events Logs on Normal
Days.
A suggested procedure could be to make a note regarding
regarding the current speed,
index and power together with the names of the HCU Event Logs and then
save these on either a USB stick or some other computer (so the logs are still
available even if MOP-BB is later replaced).
Storing both PMI diagrams and HCU Events Logs from Normal Days, will also
improve the options available for later troubleshooting during the Faulty
Situations. Therefore it could be a good idea to take the HCU Events Logs
together with Performance Measurements and then save it all together.
