Android kitkat and newer versions has restricted sdcard write permission for 3rd party apps. This
restriction causes many problems in phones which have low internal sdcard and external sdcard is
used for storing files. If anyone want to delete a file from external sdcard then they can’t delete it
using 3rd party file managers like es file explorer however default file manager allows write access to
external sdcard. This restriction can be ignored in phones which have 16 GB or more internal storage
but it causes problems in phones with low ROM.

If you too facing read/write issue in your android phone then follow this guide to remove write
restriction for 3rd party apps.

Requirements:
ES file explorer or Root explorer
Rooted phone

Step 1: Open ES file explorer and enable Root Explorer from menu
Step 2: Tap on Root Explorer text to see root explorer menu
Step 3: Tap Mount R/W
Step 4: Select RW for / and /system path and tap OK
Step 5: Go to /system/etc/permissions directory
 DEVICE  DEVELOPMENT  CUSTOM ROM LIST  LOGIN
Step 6: Open platform.xml in ES Note Editor
Step 7: Tap write icon to enable editing platform.xml
Step 8: Find <permission name=”android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE” > and add
one new line:

Step 9: Press back button and tap Yes to save file. Now exit es file explorer and restart phone.
