Design Assignment

Task overview :

We want you to design a piece of a fleet management product that helps users track their

vehicles.

What do we mean by “Track Vehicles”

All the vehicles that the user needs to track have GPS devices in them. These devices relay data

using a SIM card installed in them, which we can display on our platform.

Examples of the data : Vehicle’s current location, Motion Status (Moving or Stopped), Ignition

Status, Speed, Fuel Level and other such parameters that the ECU of a vehicle allows to read.

(There are numerous values, for the sake of this task consider the ones mentioned above and

feel free to show any other parameters which you believe are important)

Context:

Your primary user is a fleet manager who works in a large organisation with 750 vehicles

This fleet manager manages 75 vehicles

His key areas of concern are : Making sure that the vehicles are safe, healthy, at desired

locations and performing optimally for his company’s business needs

With 75 vehicles to monitor, the user should be able to identify which vehicle to focus on and

what possible actions could the user take

Further, the user would also want to make sure that the vehicle traversed on the right paths,

made pick ups and deliveries on time, fuel was consumed rightfully etc* But these are things

that the user would want to delve deeper on when he/she notices certain red-flags.

What do we expect :

We need to understand how you approach this problem, how you think about it and what would

your tentativ

Ask us all the questions you need, make any assumptions you need to (but mention it in the

documentation and come up with a clear design brief

Show us your solutioning, the ideas you came up with and the ideas you omitted

A basic flow, few rough wireframes and one visually complete screen detailed as far as

possible.

Assessment breakdown

25% on the design brief and how you arrived at it

45% on your solutioning, processes, ideation and the fundamental flow that you create

30% on your visual design that you deliver as a part of your screen.
