TechFite is a British urgency that lately opened a branch in Houston, Texas, near the
Johnson Space Center. They manufacture medical devices for the space program to help humans
work longer in space. TechFite company is growing at a fast speed. For that reason, they are
being pressured to comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA),
which is an Act governing and ensuring security of government data and operations. They are
also expected to adhere with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), whose
mission is to promote American innovation and industrial competitiveness. To fit in such a
competitive and fast-changing world, TechFite needs to comply with FISMA and NIST.
Another thing that the company should do is automate log correlation for both host-based and
network appliances. They face a significant problem in this sector because they possess less
onsite storage space. Therefore, to maximize their operations, they need to automate their current
manual log scan, enabling them to achieve only a 30% success rate in identifying intrusion
signature patterns.
Considering the financial and technological constraints faced by TechFite, one of the
very possible and highly efficient solutions that I recommend TechFite to purchase and
implement to increase their proficiency in Microsoft Azure. Microsoft operates Microsoft Azure.
It gives tools and frameworks that are readily available for use and highly efficient. (Firestone, D
et al., 2018) This technology has gained popularity among so many people as it uses Artificial
Intelligence (AI). It's an emerging technology that came into operation on October 27, 2008, as
Project Red Dog, formally released in February 2010 and renamed Azure on March 25, 2014.
The essential emerging features that Azure uses to ensure efficiency include anomaly detection,
which detects and identifies rare suspicious and significantly different items from the rest of the
data. Anomaly detection is of great importance in various situations involving abnormalities such
as intrusion, fault, fraud and many other abnormal activities and actions not familiar to the data.
It does so by detecting their presence just in time. Another feature is data ingestion which is the
process of loading data records from one or more sources into a table in Azure Data Explorer and
availing these data for a query. Data ingestion is the backbone of analytical architecture. The
imported data is typically stored in data warehouses, databases, or document stores from where it
can be accessed. Lastly, it has got predictive analytics which predicts what will happen when you
process new data. Predictive analytics constitutes of a number of techniques that analyze and
study both the current and historical facts and make predictions about unknown events or the
possibility of something happening. It provides a probability in outcome regarding the data
processed.
To test the promises of new technologies, the viability of the inventions, and whether
they can produce high payoffs, clients use Gartner Hype Cycles. Gartner Hype Cycles analyzes
maturity of adopted technologies and their potentially relevant problem-solving abilities. Using
Hype Cycles demands one to ask themselves many questions regarding the technology and the
possible risks, for instance, should you make an early move? Is a moderate approach appropriate,
or should you wait for further maturity? There are five phases of Hype Cycle's technology's life
cycle which are:

I have chosen the Gartner STREET method as the adoption process, which uses six steps
called a scope, track, rank, evaluate, evangelize and transfer for emerging technology adaption.
The scope is a crucial step as it outlines the opportunity to deal with something.
Therefore, TechFite needs to figure out the possibility they could acquire if they adopt
emerging technology.
Track stage involves seeking out relevant technologies that match the organization's
scope. TechFite needs to identify a technology that fits its scope as soon as possible.
The rank stage considers alternative candidates of the emerging technologies that could
be efficient for the company. TechFite should rank the options available at their disposal
according to efficiency.
The Evangelize stage is when the authority tells the rest of the technology to be adopted.
TechFite should evangelize about the emerging technology to be adopted for maximum
co-operation.
The transfer stage is the stage in which responsibilities are shared within the territories. It
is an essential step for TechFite to transfer knowledge about the technology.
unneeded employees could be transferred to other departments. Also, the savings could be used
to compensate for the money used in the installation of the costly Azure technology.
Comparison between Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud product. Google cloud product
is a service provider run by Google Inc used in cloud computations. One advantage of Azure is
that it has improved scalability and business sustainability. It uses flexible pools to ensure the
same performance levels as those that TechFite expects from local systems. Another advantage
of Azure is that it has an effective disaster recovery program which is simple and highly
efficient; with Azure, TechFite can apply some recovery criteria for diverse business entities and
different data entries. The company can test its efficiency plans. The disadvantage of Azure is
that it is not 100% secure as it experiences and is exposed to cyber attacks by hackers like any
other cloud service provider. Also, Azure is costly to acquire, implement and manage. It might
be expensive if not properly managed. For TechFite to adopt this technology, they must
financially plan for it effectively.
In comparison to Azure, Google Cloud gives better pricing plans. This is an advantage in
this case as the hosting plans are cheaper than those for Azure users. Another advantage of
Google Cloud is that it has benefits of live migration, which Azure does not provide. The
disadvantage of Google Cloud is that it is slower than Azure. Another disadvantage is that it is
costly in cloud hosting as compared to traditional hosting.
After adopting emerging technology, and in this case, Microsoft Azure, it is necessary to
determine and measure the success or failure of its application. This could be measured using
some techniques. One commonly used measure of its success or failure is the customer's key
performance indicator (KPI). This measurement helps one understand how the organization is
performing. After measuring the success or failure, in case of a failed adopted technology, one
should review the initial technology, review their goals and objectives and observe where they
went wrong. This requires the critical direct authority to draft a fallback plan that involves
changing the strategy and implementing another emerging technology to solve their problems.
