PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW (max. 5 sentences)

At the end of the course, students should have a broad understanding of computer systems,
multimedia and its features, as well as the Internet. They should achieve high level of expertise with
the operating systems and MS OFFICE (primarily Word program), different multimedia formats, to be
familiar with different browsers, their options and work on the Internet.

SYLLABUS (brief outline and summary of topics, max. 10 sentences)

Computer hardware (processor, motherboard, memory devices, input-output devices).


Computer software (operating systems and application software). Multimedia (graphics,
text, video, audio). The Internet - history. Connection to the Internet and computers in
the network (routers). The Internet services (e-mail, ftp, telnet, chat, blog...). Web
(content, format, browsers, search). Internet security.
