QUESTION 1
1. 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 (𝒌𝒎)
Speed (km/h) = 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 (𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒓)

1.1 Determine the speed in km/h if you travel a distance of 160 km in 2 hours (2)

1.2 Determine the speed in km/h if you travel 60 km in 45 minutes (3)

1.3 Determine the distance travelled if you drive for 30 minutes at a speed of 60 km per (3)
hour.
1.4 Determine the time it will take to travel a distance of 300 km at a speed of 50 km/h (3)

1.5 Determine the speed in metres per second if it takes 10 minutes to walk 1,2 kilometre. (4)

QUESTION 2
2. Area of a rectangle = length x breadth

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 x (length x breadth)

Area of circle = 𝝅 x (radius) 2 𝝅 = 3.142

Circumference of a circle = 2 x 𝝅 x radius

Length of the radius = ½ length of diameter


2.1 Determine the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 60 mm and a breadth of 25mm (2)

2.2 Determine the length of the rectangle if the area is 800 cm2 and the breadth is 20 cm (3)

2.3 Determine the circumference of the circle if the diameter = 344 metres (4)

The diameter of the semi- circle is 3 cm. (semi- circle is half of a circle).

Determine the area of the semi – circle. Give your answer correct to two decimals. (3)

4.4 Calculate the percentage decrease of a car that cost R 350 000 in 2016 and R280 000 in 2021 (3)
