CE-222 Assignment

The document outlines an assignment for a Water Resources Engineering course, detailing various problems related to unit hydrographs, flood hydrographs, and runoff estimation. It includes tasks such as determining watershed areas, deriving ordinates for different unit hydrographs, and analyzing rainfall data to estimate net runoff. The assignment requires the application of hydrograph methods and calculations based on provided data.

Water Resources Engineering-I (CE-222)
Branch: B.Tech (Civil Engineering) Semester: 4th

1. The ordinates of the one hour unit hydrograph of a basin at one-hour intervals are 5,8,5,3,
and 1 m3/sec. Determine (a)the watershed area represented by this unit hydrograph and
(b) the ordinates of a 2 hour unit hydrograph for the catchment using the S-curve method.

2. Two consecutive storm events, each producing 1 cm of excess rainfall over a duration of
6 hours, occur successively. Determine the resulting ordinates of the flood hydrograph,
considering a constant base flow of 10 m3/sec. The ordinates of a 6-hour unit hydrograph
are provided. Additionally, compute the 12-hour unit hydrograph and evaluate the peak
shift.

3. Given the ordinates of a 4 h unit hydrograph as below derive the ordinates of a 12 h unit
hydrograph for the same catchment.
Also derive the ordinates of a 2 h unit hydrograph for the same catchment.

4. The following is the set of observed data for successive 15 minutes period of 105 minutes
storm in a catchment:
