**Content server installation on Window **

Process ->

1) Deploy Windows server


2) Install IIS on windows
3) Install Content server
4) Enable web service
5) Install Lumira

1) Deploying Windows Server:

1. From SPC, windows server will not be deployed. We need to create an ITD ticket and mention all
the required details in it.
2. In that ticket also mention to create <SID>adm user with Admin role and ask them to share the

3. We need to modify the password of <SID>adm at the time of first logon.
4. By default SM team colleagues will create D - drive in your system. If not ask them to create D
drive. We should not install any software’s in C – drive.

2) Install IIS on windows


We should enable IIS on windows before installing Content Server.

To enable IIS goto:

Start>Administarative tools>Server manager

Click on Add Roles

Check Web Server(IIS)

Follow the wizard and complete installation.

After Adding roles follow steps mentioned in following SAP note.

3) Content Server Installation


Download media (SAPCAR for windows and Content server media and SWPM) on your host D drive.

For FS mode download media 50127120_2.zip.

Uploading media on windows server:

1) In MCD desktop goto Run and type //<hostname>

2) Create a Folder in D drive for storing installation media and give it full permissions.

When you give permissions to folder, then the folder is visible in network path, as
shown in screenshot below.

3) Now you can upload any media to your server by directly copying files to this
network path.
In cmd uncar SWPM using following command

./SAPCAR –xvf SWPM

Run spinstgui.exe file directly by double clicking on it.

SWPM gui will open.
