1A= 6,241,500,000,000,000,000 electrons/second
flowing past a point in one second.

Resistance is just what it sounds like – a measure of how a material resists the flow of
electrons. Good insulators such as plastic, rubber, and glass have very high resistance,
slowing the flow of electrons. Good conductors such as metal have very low resistance and
allow electrons to easily flow. Resistance is measured in ohms. The Greek symbol omega
(Ω) is often used to symbolize resistance in ohms.

The breadboard is the
primary place you will be
building circuits. This one is
solderless because you
don´t have to solder
anything together, sort of
like a lego in electronic
form.
The horizontal and vertical
rows carry electricity
through thin metal
connectors under the plastic
with holes.
14
This picture shows what
the breadboard would
look like if you removed
the sticky backing.
Notice how the holes are
connected.
A breadboard helps
control the flow of
electricity through a
circuit.
