THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING
Fashion choices among male and female students reflect their identity,
accessories, and style preferences, which are shaped by trends, peer pressure,
and individual expression. For many students, fashion serves as a form of self-

noted, with 53% struggling to keep up with the trends due to economic
constraints. Social media has amplified the influence of K-Pop fashion. Platforms
like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram allow K-Pop fashion trends to spread
rapidly. According to a report by Park et al. (2021), 68% of high school students

Scholars have noted that K-Pop transcends music, serving as a medium for
cultural diffusion and soft power. Kim and Lee (2020) emphasized that K-Pop has
redefined global youth culture, introducing trends that resonate deeply with fans
as fashion, cosmetics, and lifestyle. According to Cho (2018), K-Pop idols often
set trends that fans emulate, such as unique hairstyles, vibrant outfits, and
amplify these influences, making K-Pop idols accessible to fans and encouraging
fashion standards, making it a core trend among youth across different regions.
Park et al. (2021) noted that university students in Asia viewed Korean wave
