Question 1 – Arithmetic (4 marks)

Question 2 – Word Problem (3 marks)


 A book costs £4.75.
 A child buys 3 books and a bookmark costing £1.50.
 How much does the child spend altogether?

Question 3 – Fractions (3 marks)


 Shade 3/4 of the rectangle below (use diagram if printing).
 Now write 3/4 as a decimal.
 What is 1/2 + 1/4?

Question 4 – Time and Timetables (4 marks)


 A train leaves London at 09:15 and arrives in Chelmsford at 10:43.
 How long is the journey?
 If the return train leaves Chelmsford at 13:30, how long is the break before the train
departs?

Question 5 – Money & Change (3 marks)


 Ben has £10. He buys the following items:
 - Sandwich: £2.65
 - Juice: £1.35
 - Crisps: £1.20
 How much change does he get?
Question 6 – Shapes and Angles (4 marks)
 A triangle has angles of 65° and 45°.
 What is the third angle?
 Draw an isosceles triangle and label its angles.

 Explain the pattern.

Question 10 – Problem Solving (6 marks)


 A farmer has 5 boxes of apples.
 Each box contains 36 apples.
 He sells all apples at 20p each.
 a) How many apples does he sell?
 b) How much money does he make?
 c) If he spent £15 on transport, what is his profit?
