(a) A population consists of three strata with sizes 500, 1000, and 1500. A stratified
random sample of size 200 is drawn using proportional allocation. Determine
how many units are selected from each stratum. [5]
(b) A company has 1200 employees and selects every 15th employee from an ordered
list. Determine the first five selected employees if the first one is chosen randomly
from the first 15 employees. [5]
(c) A study on consumer preferences for a new product is conducted at Ekhaya
shopping mall using convenience sampling. Explain and quantify how this could
introduce bias compared to a probability sampling method. [5]
(d) A survey uses quota sampling, selecting 100 males and 100 females. How does
this introduce bias compared to stratified sampling? [5]
