1A) In a certain college, 4% of the boys and 1% of the girls are taller than 1.8m. Furthermore, 60% of the students are girls. If a (3)

1B) The odds that person X speaks the truth are 3:2 and the odds that person Y speaks the truth are 5:3. In what percentage of cases (3)
are they likely to contradict to each other on an identical point?

3A) It is known that disks produced by a certain company will be defective with probability .01 independently of each other. The (3)
company sells the disks in packages of 10 and offers a money-back guarantee that at most 1 of the 10 disks is defective. What

returned?
3B) In an experiment of tossing a fair dice, let X be the number of tosses required to get any one of the numbers 2, 4, or 6. Find the (3)
moment generating function of X and hence find its mean.
