what is ServiceNow?

ServiceNow is a cloud-based platform that provides IT service management (ITSM), IT


operations management (ITOM), IT business management (ITBM), and other enterprise
solutions. It helps organizations automate workflows, improve efficiency, and
streamline processes across various departments

Versioning of ServiceNow:

ServiceNow releases two major versions per year, named after cities in alphabetical
order. Each release includes new features, security enhancements, and performance
improvements. Here’s a list of recent and upcoming ServiceNow versions:

Personal Developer Instance (PDI)

Step 1: Sign Up on ServiceNow Developer Portal


Go to https://developer.servicenow.com.

Click Sign Up (or log in if you already have an account).


Fill in the required details and complete the registration.
Step 2: Request a New Instance
Once logged in, go to Manage -> Instance.
Click Request Instance.
Select the latest available ServiceNow version (e.g., Xanadu).
Click Claim Instance.
Step 3: Access Your Instance
ServiceNow will assign you a unique Instance URL (e.g.,
https://devXXXXX.service-now.com).
Log in using the admin credentials provided.

what is Next experience UI?

Next Experience UI (formerly known as Polaris UI) is the modernized user interface
introduced by ServiceNow starting in the San Diego release (March 2022). It
provides a fresh, streamlined, and consistent experience across all ServiceNow
applications.

Some of the Key Features of Next experienced UI are as below:

1. Unified Navigation – A modern top navigation bar for seamless movement across
applications.
2. Personalized Workspaces – Users can customize their experience with role-based
workspaces.
3. Enhanced UI Performance – Faster loading times and smoother interactions.
4. Updated Theme & Styling – Modernized look with rounded edges, soft colors, and
improved contrast.
