Phrasal verbs are multi-word verb constructions.


lntransitive Phrasal Verbs
r Consists of a verb plus a particle

N0TE: Phrasal verbs are


two-word or three-

T?ansitive Fhrasal Verbs
o Thke direct objects. Here, the particle follows the direct object.

Phrasal Prepositional Verbs
r These multi-word verbs consist of a verb followed by two particles.

Examples: He puts up with. a l.ot of norusense.

There are two types of phrasal verbs.

1. Separable Phrasal Verbs


Phrasal verbs are separable ifa noun can separate the verb from the
preposition or adverb,
Examples: Ruben susitched. on th.e light.

More examples of separable phrasal verbs:

Examples:
