Jenga theory: This theory suggests that creativity and innovation involve the addition and subtraction
of issues and objects to make a completely new, and complex aspect that overcomes the limitations of
the previous aspects.

System theory: This theory presents a comprehensive framework and practical sets for understanding
change and interrelationship in human systems with its relation to making sense of the times in which
we live and the challenges before us in order to understand ourselves and our worlds.

The functionalist theory: this theory plays an important role in improving the process of creativity and
innovation through empirical research, data collection, analysis and other such activities, which also can
eliminate common system mistakes.

Synthetic ability: it is the ability to think of or generate new, novel,


and interesting ideas. Additionally, it is the ability to spontaneously make
connections between ideas, or groups of things.

Practical ability: it is the ability to convert any new idea into a


product to be sold.

Analytical ability: it is the ability to evaluate the strengths and


weaknesses of the proposed idea and determine the required steps to improve it.

Convergent versus Divergent Thinking

Joy Paul Guilford is a psychologist, created the terms convergent and divergent
thinking in 1956.

• It is also known as Creative Thinking or Horizontal Thinking.

• It is a spontaneous, non-restricted, free-flowing, ‘non-linear’ manner,


such that different many ideas can be created in an emergent cognitive
way.

• A divergent thinker does not necessarily have a high IQ

• After divergent thinking , thoughts and information is structured by
