Fish
Fish
Fish are aquatic animals that live in both freshwater and saltwater environments.
They are cold-blooded vertebrates, meaning they have a backbone and their body
temperature changes with their surroundings. Most fish breathe through gills, which
allow them to extract oxygen from water. Fish come in a wide variety of shapes,
sizes, and colors, with over 30,000 known species, including familiar types like
salmon, tuna, goldfish, and sharks.
Fish play a vital role in aquatic ecosystems and are also important to humans for
food, sport, and even as pets. They are adapted to many different habitats, from
deep oceans to mountain streams. Some fish, like the clownfish, form symbiotic
relationships with other sea creatures, while others, like the piranha, are known
for their sharp teeth and aggressive behavior.
