1) SAP Implementation:
1- Project Types:
1. New Implementation Project (Green Field):
A company with no existing ERP system or using a different system is implementing SAP from scratch.

2. SAP S4/HANA Conversion Project (Brown Field):


The company is migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA.
This involves converting existing data and processes rather than starting fresh.

3. SAP Upgrade Project:


The company is upgrading an existing SAP ECC or S/4HANA system to a newer version.

4. Roll-Out Project:
A company with an existing SAP system is extending it to a new company code, country, or business unit.

5. SAP Support Project:


Providing ongoing support, maintenance, or activating new functionalities in an existing SAP system.
This includes bug fixes, process optimizations, and minor enhancements.

1. SAP ECC Project:
1- Methodology:
Follows Accelerated SAP (ASAP) Methodology, which is based on the Waterfall approach.

2- Phases:
Phase Details
- Handled By Project Manager.
- Define Project Scope/Objectives/Plan.
1- Preparation - Define Members.
- Plan logistics (e.g., meeting rooms, schedules).
- Kick-off.
- Meet with key users to understand business processes and pain points.
- Demonstrate the SAP best practice to align business needs.
- Prepare the blueprint:
It’s a contract that contains:
2- Blueprint All system process to be implemented.
(Exploration)
All Required configurations.
All Necessary development/ customizations (RICEFW).
- RICEFW:
(Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows).
- Consultants configure the system according to the approved blueprint.
- Developers implement custom developments (if needed).
3- Realization - Testing Phases:
Unit Testing (individual module testing).
System Integration Testing (SIT): End-to-end testing across modules.
- Show the implemented system to the business users.
- Train the key users.
- Prepare the training manuals.
4- Final Preparation - Prepare the test script.
(Deploy) - UAT (User Acceptance Test):
The end user to test the system and confirm that it’s meet the business needs.
- Master Data Migration (Templets).
- Cut-Over Activates (by consultant and business).
- The system is officially activated for business use.
5- Go live - Provide support to resolve any post-go-live issues.
- Monitor system performance and ensure business continuity.
