Industrial Project (Information Technology)
Rationale:
In the field of Computer and Information Technology various technology
(hardware and Software) needs to be integrated and proper paradigms needs
to be implemented to develop any kind of computer applications. Hence
becomes essential to get hands on experience for developing industrial
applications. This subjects essential to understand the implementation of the
system development process ie. analyse, design, coding, debugging and
testing. This will help the students to acquire skills and attitudes to work as
programmer, Network administrator, technical assistant. Furthermore, the
student will be able to find out various sources of technical information and
develop self-study techniques to prepare a project and write a project report.

Objectives:
Group projects can help students develop a host of skills that are increasingly
important in the professional world. Properly structured, group projects can
reinforce skills that are relevant to both group and individual work. The
students should be able to:
1. Work in Groups, Plan the work, and coordinate the work.
2. Develop leadership qualities.
3. Develop Innovative ideas.
4. Practically implement the acquired knowledge.
5. Develop basic technical Skills by hands on experience.
6. Document and Write project report.
7. Develop skills to use latest technology in Computer/Information
Technology field.
8. Analyze the different types of Case studies.
9. Testing of software and hardware.
10. Maintaining systems and accessories.
Following activities related to project are required to be dealt with, during
fifth semester:
1. Form project group of 3 – 4 students and select group leader
amongst them.
2. Do market surveys, collect information, analyze the information and
select the project (For Three topics).
3. Present three project topics with problem definition. (Out of these,
one will be selected).
4. Prepare the list of requirements. Prepare plan, which describes how
the system will be developed.
5. Distribute the Project Module. Prepare a synopsis of the project

Following activities related to project are required to be dealt with, during


Sixth semester:
1. Implement the project plan prepared in fifth semester.
2. Do testing of developed project. Debug the errors found during
testing.
3. Prepare Project Report and Coding Specifications.

work. An assessment that takes place during a project or process, that
conveys details such as

time and within budget.

Progress reports are used to determine whether changes are
