(1).Describe to the following in briefly.

(a). INTERNET.

The Internet is a globally connected network system

that facilitates
communication and data services through a vast collection of
private, public, business,
academic, and government networks . It is a decentralized
network, which means there is no central authority governing
its operations. The Internet relies on protocols and standards
that govern how small units of data are formatted, addressed,
and transmitted. The terms internet and World Wide Web
(WWW) are often used as synonyms, but technically they are
not the same thing. The World Wide Web is a service that uses
the Internet’s infrastructure to provide digital devices and
applications with access to websites. The Internet has various
uses such as online businesses, social media, online education,
and more. The history of the Internet dates back to the 1960s
when the United States Department of Defense’s Advanced
Research Projects Agency (ARPA) was tasked with creating a
robust, reliable communication network that would be capable
of withstanding a nuclear attack. The first network prototype
was called the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency
Network), which connected four major universities and
3
research institutions. In 1974, researchers Vint Cerf and
Robert Kahn introduced the idea of an Internet Protocol Suite,
commonly known as TCP/IP (Transmission Control
Protocol/Internet Protocol). The two protocols provide a
framework for computers to send and receive data over
disparate, interconnected networks. The National Science
Foundation established the National Science Foundation
Network (NSFNET) in the 1980s, which became a backbone for
the internet and essentially created a “network of networks”
that expanded network access beyond the Department of
Defense’s earlier ARPANET. The web, which sits on top of the
internet and uses its infrastructure, opened up the potential of
the internet for more everyday uses by making it easier to
share and access information across networks

(b). INTRANET.

. An intranet is a private network that is used by an

organization to facilitate internal communication,
collaboration, and information sharing among its members. It
is similar to the internet, but it is only accessible to authorized
users within the organization. Intranets are designed to be
secure and provide a safe environment for employees to share
information and work together on projects. They can be used
to store and organize documents, collaborate on tasks, share
news and announcements, and find contact information for
employees. Intranets can also be used to simplify employee
5
onboarding, boost recognition and reward, and encourage
knowledge sharing. Social intranet features are common in
contemporary intranets, allowing employees to create profiles,
submit, like, comment on, and share posts. Intranets are an
essential tool for organizations to enhance productivity,
streamline operations, and foster a culture of innovation and
efficiency.

(C). EMAIL ETIQUETTE.

Email etiquette is a set of principles that govern the

proper conduct of email communication. It involves using
appropriate language, tone, and format to convey a message
effectively and professionally. Here are some tips to follow
when writing professional emails:

6
1. Use a professional email address that includes your name
or company name.
2. Write clear and concise subject lines that summarize the
content of the email.
3. Maintain a professional tone throughout the email.
4. Keep the copy clear and concise, and avoid using
excessive abbreviations.
5. Mark recipients in the appropriate tags and avoid using
“Reply all” unless necessary.
6. Read the copy twice before sending to avoid errors and
ensure clarity.
7. Avoid sharing controversial topics or confidential
information over email.
8. Use an appropriate email signature that includes your
name, title, and contact information.
9. Always introduce yourself first if you are emailing
someone for the first time.
10. Check your attachments and formatting before
sending the email.

7
(d). SMS (Short Message Service).

. SMS stands for Short Message Service. It is a text messaging service

component of most telephone, internet, and mobile device systems. SMS uses
standardized communication protocols that allow mobile devices to exchange
short text messages. It is a popular method of text communication and is used
by an estimated 3.5 billion active users worldwide. SMS messages can be sent
and received between mobile phones, and support for the service has expanded
to include other mobile technologies such as CDMA networks and Digital
AMPS. The service allows users to send and receive messages of up to 160
characters (when entirely alphanumeric) to and from GSM mobiles. SMS
technology originated from radio telegraphy in radio memo pagers that used
standardized phone protocols. The first SMS message was sent on December
3, 1992, when Neil Papworth, a test engineer for Sema Group, sent “Merry
Christmas” to the Orbitel 901 phone of colleague Richard Jarvis. SMS is a
widely used data application and is an essential tool for communication in
today’s world.

8
(e). VIDEO CONFERENCING.

.Video conferencing is an online technology that allows

users in different locations to hold real-time face-to-face
meetings without having to move to a single location
together . It is particularly convenient for business users in
different cities or even different countries because it saves
time, expenses, and hassles associated with business
travel . Video conferencing can be conducted using web
cameras connected to or built into laptops, tablets, or desktop
computers, smartphones and other connected mobile devices
equipped with cameras . Some businesses use dedicated
video conferencing rooms that have been equipped with high-
grade cameras and screens to ensure the conversation is clear
and with limited technical faults . Third-party providers often
install and assemble the hardware needed to conduct the
video conference . The stability and quality of the video
conference may fluctuate with the speed and reliability of
one’s internet data connection

9
(f). TELE CONFERENCE.

.A teleconference, also known as a telecon, is a live

exchange of information among several people who are
remote from one another but linked by a telecommunications
system. It can be an audio or audiovisual meeting where
participants can join in real-time from different locations.
Traditionally, teleconferences were joined by telephone, but
now they often include visual components like webcams and
screen sharing, making it more like an in-person meeting. The
telecommunications system may support the teleconference
by providing one or more of the following: audio, video, and/or
data services by one or more means, such as telephone,
computer, telegraph, teletypewriter, radio, and television.
There are different types of teleconferences, including audio
teleconferences and video conferences. An audio
teleconference is a meeting hosted over the phone, while a

10
video conference is a type of teleconference that always
combines both audio and video.

(g). NEWS LATTER.

. A newsletter is a tool used by businesses and

organizations to share relevant and valuable information with
their network of customers, prospects, and subscribers. It can
be in a printed or electronic format. Newsletters are often sent
out in an email format to subscribers who’ve opted in to
receive it.
They contain a variety of topic-specific content—from news
and blog articles to informative videos and
advertisements. The content within your newsletter should be
highly relevant to your audience and it should provide
immediate value. That means the content needs to help your

11
readers in some way, whether that’s by keeping them
informed on the latest industry trends and news or by
providing tips and insights on a specific topic.
Newsletters enable businesses to reach a wider online
audience, as opposed to relying on traditional marketing
methods such as television or radio ads. By creating content
that’s interesting and relevant, newsletters can increase a
brand’s customer loyalty and connection

(h). WHAT IS COHERENCE?

1. . General Meaning: Coherence refers to the quality or

state of elements sticking together or being logically
connected. It’s a situation where all parts or ideas fit
together well to form a united whole.

2. In Writing: In a composition, coherence is a literary

technique that refers to logical connections, which
listeners or readers perceive in an oral or written text. It

12
implies that the written or spoken piece is not only
consistent and logical, but also unified and meaningful.

3. In Physics: Coherence describes the properties of the

interrelation between physical quantities of a single wave
or between several waves. It enables waves to have
stationary interference and is measured by the coherence
time.
