NJSLA Spring Administration - CHEAT SHEET

Test Dates Apr 28, 29, 30, May 1 and May 5,6
Test Administrator (TA)~Training

TEST ADMINISTRATOR LOG IN:


Each staff member received a username and password from Pearson.
● Username is your district email address
● You may be prompted to reset your password
● Keep your username and password in an easily accessible but private spot.
● The same login is used for the practice and official NJSLA site

To Log on:

After logging in….


At the top of the page, check to make sure the following:
1. You are in the correct NJSLA year and session “New Jersey > 2024 - 2025 > NJSLA/NJGPA-
ELA/Math Spring 2025 ” & the correct school (Thomas Jefferson Middle NJ 231290-060)

SELECT TESTING & DISPLAY STUDENTS
After logging into Pearson:
1. Click the drop-down menu (select an action) under “Testing”.
2. Select “Students in Sessions”.
3. Underneath “Session List” , click on “add a session”. Type in the session name you have
been provided with for the test (ex. TJM-ELA08-T0801-CORSO)
4. Select your session. Click on “add selected”.
5. Scroll down below the “Find Sessions” box. Find “Filters” on the left.-Select “Hide.” (the student
list will appear wider)
6. To ensure all students in session are in view, in the right corner above student name-change
the displaying # to 100.

STARTING THE TEST

1. Distribute testing tickets individually. Students should be seated in alpha order and tickets are
assigned in that manner. Rosters and tickets will be numbered for each student.
2. At the top of the page, Click on the green “START” button. Students can now log in using the
username and password listed on their Student Testing Ticket. Check to make sure all students’
screens display “NEW JERSEY -Username & Password.”
3. Make sure students type in their correct username and password before clicking on the blue
sign in button.
4. Unlock the test for students to start the NJSLA test. Slide the lock to the right to unlock the
assigned testing unit.
5. When all students have successfully started the session, lock the individual test for all absent
students.
6. Actively monitor the students’ testing devices and your computer screen.
7. When all students complete the unit, slide the lock to the left to lock the unit. You must do this in
order to move on to the next unit.

MANAGING STUDENT SESSIONS
Once students log on:
“Refresh” to ensure all users turn GREEN and are marked “Active.” Do this occasionally during the test
session.

RESUMING A STUDENT TESTING SESSION


1. Refresh “Students in Session” list.
2. Find exited student in the list.
3. Select the drop down arrow where it says “Exited”- RED and click “Resume”.
4. The session list “Refresh” automatically, the student status box will then be YELLOW and say
“Resumed.”
5. The student can refresh their TESTNAV screen and log into the assessment.
*****Please ensure that you have provided documentation of error message and times on the
“Disruption Log”.*******

As students complete testing, test administrators should refer to the instructions at the end of the
administration script. Test Administrators may provide navigational guidance as students click through
the log out steps. Please be sure to lock the unit after all students have completed their test.
