1. Which shortcut key is used to start and exit from the
slideshow?
o In Microsoft PowerPoint, you can start the slideshow by
pressing the F5 key, which begins the presentation from the
first slide. If you want to start the slideshow from the current
slide, you can press Shift + F5. To exit the slideshow at
any time, simply press the Esc key.

2. What is the difference between MS Word and

PowerPoint presentation?
o MS Word and PowerPoint serve different purposes. MS
Word is primarily used for creating, editing, and formatting
text documents such as reports, essays, and letters. It is ideal
for handling long-form text with various formatting options.
On the other hand, PowerPoint is designed for creating
slideshows and presentations. It allows users to add text,
images, animations, and transitions to make presentations
visually engaging. While Word focuses on document
processing, PowerPoint emphasizes visual storytelling and
communication.

3. What is a slide sorter view?

o The Slide Sorter View in PowerPoint displays all the slides in
a presentation as thumbnails on a single screen. This view is
useful for rearranging, deleting, or organizing slides easily. It
provides an overview of the entire presentation, allowing
users to quickly make adjustments to the slide sequence
without having to go through each slide individually.
4. What is the use of the notes pane?
o The Notes Pane in PowerPoint is used for adding speaker
notes to slides. These notes help presenters remember key
points while delivering a presentation. The notes are not
visible to the audience during the slideshow but can be seen
by the presenter in Presenter View. This feature is
particularly useful for making presentations more structured
and ensuring that no important information is forgotten
during the presentation.

5. What is the difference between the "Update

Automatically" and "Fixed" option in the header
and footer?
o In PowerPoint, when adding a date and time to the header or
footer, you can choose between "Update Automatically" or
"Fixed" options. The "Update Automatically" option ensures
that the date and time change dynamically each time the
presentation is opened. This is useful for keeping the
presentation up to date. The "Fixed" option, however, keeps
the date and time as it was when initially set, ensuring it
remains constant even when the file is reopened later.

6. What happens if you do not select the checkbox

‘Don’t show on title slide’?
o If you do not check the ‘Don’t show on title slide’ option
when adding headers or footers, the header and footer content
will also appear on the title slide. This may not always be
desirable, as title slides usually have a different design and
layout than the rest of the slides. Checking this option
ensures that the header and footer are only applied to the
content slides, keeping the title slide clean and professional.
7. What do you understand by motion path in
PowerPoint?
o A motion path is a type of animation effect in PowerPoint
that allows objects such as text, images, or shapes to move
along a predefined path on a slide. Instead of just appearing,
disappearing, or changing in place, an object can move in
various directions, following lines, curves, or custom paths
drawn by the user. Motion paths make presentations more
dynamic and visually engaging by adding movement to
elements.

8. Can we apply the same transition to all slides in a

PowerPoint presentation?
o Yes, PowerPoint allows you to apply the same transition to
all slides in a presentation. To do this, you can select a
transition effect from the Transitions tab and click on the
“Apply to All” button. This ensures consistency throughout
the presentation, making slide changes smoother and more
professional. However, if needed, different transitions can
also be applied to individual slides for variety.

9. Is it possible to do animation for objects (Table,

Shapes, SmartArt, etc.) in PowerPoint?
o Yes, PowerPoint allows animations for various objects such
as tables, shapes, and SmartArt graphics. Using the
Animations tab, you can apply entrance, emphasis, exit, and
motion path animations to these objects. Animations can be
customized to appear with a click, automatically after a set
time, or in a sequence with other animations. This feature
helps make presentations more interactive and visually
appealing.

10. Explain the Rehearse Timings option in Microsoft

PowerPoint and how one could use it.
 The Rehearse Timings feature in PowerPoint allows users to
practice their presentation while recording the time spent on each
slide. This helps in setting automatic slide transitions, making it
useful for self-running presentations. When using this option,
PowerPoint records the time spent on each slide and saves it. Later,
you can decide whether to use the recorded timings for an
automatic slideshow or manually adjust the timings for a more
refined presentation.

11. Explain the Slide Master option in Microsoft

PowerPoint and how one could use it.
 The Slide Master option in PowerPoint is used to create and
manage the overall design and layout of a presentation. It allows
users to make global changes, such as setting a consistent
background, font style, color scheme, and placeholder positions,
which automatically apply to all slides. Instead of editing each
slide individually, users can modify the Slide Master once and
have the changes reflected throughout the presentation. This
feature is especially helpful for maintaining a professional and
uniform design.
