Automation of Home Appliances Based On Temperature (Air Conditioner)

This document is a project report submitted by three students for their Bachelor of Technology degree. It details the development of an automated air conditioner system that controls the speed of a DC fan based on temperature readings from a thermistor sensor. The system includes an AT89S52 microcontroller, analog to digital converter, LCD display and DC motor. It was developed to automate home appliances and can find applications in industrial processes to prevent overheating. The report describes the components, programming, and concludes the system achieves temperature dependent control of an air conditioner.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First and foremost, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our project mentor. N. Parijatha, Asst. Professor. We were privileged to experience a sustained enthusiastic and involved interest from his side. This fueled our enthusiasm even further and encouraged us to boldly step into what was a totally dark and unexplored expanse before us.

We would also like to thank our Friends who were ready with positive comments all the time, whether it was an off-hand comment to encourage us or a constructive piece of criticism and a special thanks to Mrs. Hymavathi, Head of Electronics & Communications Department, who arranged the needed requirements for all of us.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this project is to implement a system to control the air conditioner based on temperature.

DESCRIPTION:
Every system is automated in order to face new challenges in the present day situation. Automated systems have less manual operations, so that the flexibility, reliabilities are high and accurate. Hence every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of electronics automated systems are doing better performance. This project title Temperature Dependent Air Conditioner itself indicates that based on the variation of temperature sensor the speed of Dc fan (air conditioner) will be controlled. In this project we are using a Thermistor as a temperature sensor which senses the variation of temperatures where the avoidance of the breakage of components due to over heat. The temperature sensor output will be given to the micro controller through the ADC that converts the analog to digital one. The variations of temperature will be displayed on the LCD. According to the variation in temperature the speed of Dc fan will be changed.

Applications: Industrial applications Home appliances
